The pictures show the original plate top. This strikes the hours and 1/2 hours on the bell and is of 8-day duration. Circa 1680.
One of the side doors is engraved ' Restored & Refitted by Charles Shapland 207 High Holborn W.C' (London).
It is a pity that it does not retain the original mechanism but this is still a chance to obtain a 17th century clock in a very original case at an affordable price.
