Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian jewellery is defined by lightweight platinum metalwork, delicate openwork lace patterns, and precise milgrain edges. Popularized during the reign of King Edward VII, these designs emphasised symmetry, refinement, and the extensive use of diamonds and gemstones.

Jewellers of the Edwardian era frequently paired platinum with yellow gold settings or used solid platinum to allow for fine detail without compromising strength. Faceted sapphires, diamonds, pearls, and rubies were commonly selected gemstones.

Authentic Edwardian pieces feature hand-applied milgrain borders, fine openwork platinum mounts, and period-appropriate gemstone cuts such as old European or single cuts. Period hallmarks, maker marks, and fitted safety chain attachments further assist in verification.

An antique brooch can be worn on suit lapels, coat collars, silk scarves, or secured at the waist of an evening dress. It may also be displayed in a glass fabric-lined shadow box or jewellery tray when not being worn.

Clean platinum and sapphire jewellery using warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft-bristled toothbrush to remove dirt around setting mounts. Store the piece individually in a lined box to prevent diamonds from scratching softer materials or surrounding metalwork.
