Description:

This is a fine quality antique English Georgian mahogany carver / armchair, from the late George IV period, circa 1830, ideal as an office / desk, dining or occasional chair, with a newly upholstered seat, in excellent original condition. This strong and heavy chair is designed with an attractive splayed bar back decorated with a pierced floral fretwork & reeded central splat below, flanked by reeded moulded stiles, secured to down swept arms on turned supports. The seat frame is raised on ring turned front legs, with sabre legs to the rear. The Georgian armchair has been newly upholstered in a top-quality neutral colour hardwearing hopsack chenille weave upholstery. If you do not like the fabric, we charge £25 labour to re-cover the seat in a fabric of your choice. The existing upholstery is new, clean and free from wear and marks. This Georgian mahogany carver boasts the original polish; therefore, it has a good depth of colour and patination, displaying a lovely mellow brown colour.
