Circa 1900. Mahogany free standing desk by ‘Whytock & Reid of Edinburgh’ with many features used by ‘Sir Robert Lorimer’. The insert tooled and gilded green leather top, framed with broad mahogany banding and stylish fore-edge, with a configuration of one long drawer, flanked by a pair of two short and two deep drawers, with various cast brass handles and drop handles, beneath the center drawer is shaped frieze, the concave sides and back with book match flame mahogany, resting on four elegant cabriole legs, finishing on a stylized trifid foot
