Antique Early Treen 19thc Fruitwood Game Of Pigs In Clover. English C1840-60.

Sold by: Mark Seabrook Antiques

A fine example of a mid 19thc fruitwood game called ''pigs in clover'', consisting of three concentric fruitwood rings fixed to a wood base..... the game challenges players to drive pigs (wooden balls) through clover (the outer rings) and into a pen (inner ring) which is in the centre, without physically touching the wooden balls....you can also keep adding to the number of pigs, to make it more difficult.....this is a lovely game to play with the grandchildren, who have often said to me after playing the game....''it is better than any computer game'' , high praise indeed..!! the game is in excellent condition, with a fine natural colour....and ideal to play at Christmas...!

English. C1840-60.
