Rare Miniature Silver & Cut Glass Chatelaine Scent Bottle, Circa 1860

Description

This exquisite and rather charming silver lidded vivid pink glass chatelaine scent bottle dates circa 1860. The discoidal body with diamond cutting. The unmarked silver screw-top lid with ring attachment allowing it to hang on a chatelaine. The neck fitted with the original minute glass stopper, a rarity as these are very often lost.

Hallmarks:

Unmarked as was very often the case with small scent bottles but tested as silver.

Dimensions:

Height: 3.5cm / 1.3 inches.

Diameter: 2.5cm / 1 inch.

Condition:

Good.

Glass in good condition.

Silver lid in good condition.
