Description

A beautiful 19th century Russian papier-mâché small lacquer box. Wonderful decoration to the top, with almost iridescent colours to the costume. Some of the colours just seem to glow. The box is in very good overall condition. Inside is the Imperial Eagle with Cyrillic letters.

Also in the box is a note confirming who it was given to and by whom, Lady Dunmore, I have no reason not to think this is original and has always been in the box.
