An exceptional Norwegian vintage silver and enamel butterfly brooch. This example has a colour combination in shades of white and ochre, with black, olive green and grey accents. The guilloche enamel wings curve slightly to reflect the light and reveal the very delicate vein details of the wings.
The back of the brooch is marked ''Sterling 925 S Norway'' with the mark for well known Norwegian jewellery designer Hroar Prydz. There is a good fastening clasp at the back and the brooch is in wonderful condition.
