Description

A rare example of French carriage clock by Richard & Co, Paris. A silvered dial with a subsidiary circular dial showing true seconds which is a rare feature. Blued steel hands and Roman numerals and signed by retailers 'Goldsmiths & Silversmiths 112, Regent Street London'. A larger proportioned brass case with a fluted carrying handle and canted side columns. An oblong bevelled glass top panel showing the original lever escapement. An 8-day duration timepiece mechanism. Marked R C' to the mechanism backplate. Circa 1895.
