A unique collection of small shoes and boots finely crafted from anthracite (coal). The collection comprises a single heeled shoe, a pair of ankle boots (with minor chip) and a shapely pair of knee length boots. All with fine scratch detailing. Of several examples I have had over the years these are by far the smallest and finest. These carvings commonly were produced as love tokens and a past-time within mining communities in Wales and the North East. Shoe: 6.5cm long, Knee boots: 6.5cm high.
