We are delighted to offer for sale this incredible Pair of Large Early 19th-century Regency period Mughal School Indian Oil Portrait Paintings on Silk Panels depicting an important Indian couple who are dressed in elaborate Indian clothing whilst holding a rose in one hand.
 
Each exceptional quality painting is mounted within its original substantial-sized Polychrome painted and hand-carved foliate moulded frames that look outstanding and are of good patina.
 
The paintings are both fastidiously detailed throughout.
 
Both portraits have delicately painted foliate borders surrounding a feigned oval ring.
 
The Gentleman is holding his gold-embellished military sword in one hand.
 
The clothing the couple were wearing would suggest that they were of a very high society and ranking.
