Antique Oak Furniture 17thc Fruitwood & Oak Joint Stool. English C1620-30.
Status:This item has been sold Sold by:Mark Seabrook Antiques
A superb survival from the first quarter of the 17thc....this early ''joyned'' stool has an oak top and fruitwood base, it has gained a wonderful colour from years of careful use...there is a small shrinkage crack in the top, probably happened in the first few years of its long life...the rails underneath the seat are carved on the front and back with bold gouge carving, typical of this period and have been left plain on the sides....each elaborate leg is skillfully turned with an inverted baluster shape, joined by plain thick stretchers....just a delightful example from this early time and to think all turned by eye on a pole-lathe....amazing..!
English. C1620-30.
Payment can be made by Bank Transfer , all you will need are my Bank Details, which I will send you or off line by Credit / Debit card ,..... e-mail or telephone your card details (long card number, expiry date and three security digits on the reverse of the card) through to me and I will do the rest .
