This exquisite early 19th-century mourning ring is a remarkable example of Georgian sentimental jewellery. Featuring a central glass panel showcasing intricately woven hairwork, the ring is bordered by a black and white enamel band inscribed ''Sacred to Affection.'' The enamelled shoulders are adorned with symbolic urn motifs, representing mourning and remembrance. The back of the band''s head bears the inscription: ''James Harrold, Ob. 8 Sep. 1811 Ę 60.''
Beautifully crafted, this ring captures the elegance and emotional significance of mourning jewellery from the Georgian era. This ring is in good overall condition with light wear commensurate with age.
