A fine quality Regency flame mahogany 8 day longcase clock by Thomas Wightman of St Martins Lane, London.
 
 
The small sized, high quality case veneered in beautifully figured flame mahogany, constructed on a solid oak carcass.
 
 
The brass inlaid, lancet arch hood with convex circular glass, bound with a locking cast brass bezel. The hood sides with circular fretted cast brass and red silk lined sound frets.
 
 
The lancet topped long trunk door with choice curled mahogany veneers, flanked by quarter reeded columns, terminating to brass capitals.
 
 
The raised moulded panel effect base with skirted plinth and pad feet.
 
 
This stylish well proportioned case is in excellent original condition with wonderful colour and patination.
 
 
The convex circular white enamelled dial with Roman numeral chapter ring, signed to the centre Thos Wightman, St Martins Lane, London.
 
 
The fully restored, high quality movement of eight day duration with shaped and shouldered plates united by five knopped pillars, anchor escapement, pin crutch and striking the hours on a single bell, with strike / strike silent facility located above the XII.
 
 
A high quality movement beautifully executed by a good London maker.
