An Extremely Charming George I Period Burr Elm And Walnut Bowfronted, Wall Hanging, Corner Cupboard, Having Superbly Figured Doors With Attractive Crossbanded And Inlaid Decoration, Retaining Original Engraved Brass Hinges And Lock Escutcheons, Enclosing Three Fixed Shelves.
This extremely lovely corner cupboard is very much a cut above the norm. Boasting wonderfully figured veneers and elegant inlaid decoration to the doors it really stands out from the crowd and it also retains its original brasswear which is another nice feature as this is particularly nice.
Overall the cupboard has also retained a lovely rich colour and patina which of course adds to its overall allure.
It is common to find late 18th and early 19th century mahogany bowfront hanging corner cupboards, albeit it of varying qualities and designs, however it is extremely rare to find these earlier elm and walnut examples which are far more decorative.
From a practical point of view the corner cupboard is an incredibly functional item of furniture, allowing you to not just create elegance in an otherwise empty space, but also practical strorage.
As with all items which we offer for sale this corner cupboard has been inspected and attended to by our highly skilled, specialist antique furniture restorers before being placed on sale and received a natural wax polish to ensure it is in the best possible condition when purchased and placed into the home or office.
