Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Georgian transferware refers to earthenware ceramics decorated via a copper-plate printing process developed in 18th-century England. Designs were engraved onto copper plates, printed onto tissue paper using cobalt oxide ink, and transferred onto unglazed pottery before firing.

19th-century cachepots were primarily manufactured from lead-glazed earthenware or ironstone china. The blue pigmentation was derived from cobalt oxide, which held up well under high kiln temperatures during the underglaze firing process.

Authentic pieces often exhibit fine surface crazing in the glaze, slight misalignment or seams in the transfer print pattern, foot rims showing unglazed clay, and specific maker marks or pattern names impressed or printed on the base.

An antique cachepot can be styled on a deep window sill, mantelpiece, or console table housing living potted plants. It provides textural contrast when paired with natural timber surfaces, modern minimalist decor, or traditional brass accessories.

Clean glazed earthenware using lukewarm water and a mild detergent applied with a soft cloth. Avoid submerging the piece in water for extended periods, keep clear of abrasive scourers, and place a plastic liner inside when placing potted plants to prevent moisture absorption through internal micro-cracks.
