Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The secretaire interior has two small birds-eye-maple drawers, four pigeon holes and a writing surface. It has attractive carved corbels to both sides and stands on a plinth base. All the drawers are secured in place by a side hinged locking pilaster on the right which has a working lock and key.

Condition Report:
Good colour and patina. Comes with working lock and key. General wear and marks commensurate with age. The drop down fall of the secretaire has warped over time - it still closes and locks shut, but only locks into place on one side. There is a split to the leather writing surface.
