Highland Cattle on a Scottish Mountainous Landscape.
Daniel Sherrin was born in 1868 at Brentwood, Essex.
Sherrin studied under his father and he painted in the style of Benjamin W Leader. The family moved to Ramsgate in Kent where he began to paint landscape views and coastal scenes. He mainly painted under contract to a gallery and worked under his own name as well as the pseudonyms 'L Richards' and ‘Horace Gallon’. Many of his works were used for book illustrations and he also produced designs for army recruitment posters during the First World War. He later moved to Whitstable where he died on 26th January 1940.
