Antique George IV Bronze & Ormolu Sheep Ink Standish Inkwell.

A delightful small bronze & ormolu ink standish inkwell in a naturalistic rural style from the first half of the 19th century. The animalier figure of a grazing ewe with her lamb suckling, standing on a rectangular plinth cast with naturalistic plants and grasses, inset with the original pounce sifter, tray, inkwell and cover. The base with a waterleaf cast ormolu band on plinth base. Retaining the original ormolu & bronze patinations.
