This lovely pair of highly decorative Chinese foo dogs date to circa 1900 and are most likely French in their manufacture. They are solidly cast with great detail and have a rich hand painted finish which represents red lacquer. Their teeth and eyes have been highlighted in white. The foo dogs are very well modelled showing good movement and stance and a fierce expression.
