Pair of early 19th Century Chinese Cloisonne Enamel Tazzas. Jiaqing. Circa 1800 - 1820.
Rare and unusual pair of Tazza (or Stem Cups). The foot splayed and rising to a rounded midsection, the bowl wide and shallow, decorated with scrolling lotus, flowers and fruit in T-Fret polychrome black enamel ground (rare colour background). Central dish medalian with thick gilt edge beading, and gilt wires to cloisonne enamel floral patterns in vivid blues, reds and yellow, against white enamel background. The exterior brilliantly decorated in green, yellow, light blue, red and white enamels with evenly spaced blossoming lotus borne on leafy tendrils, all between ruyi-head borders and reserved on a rich dark blue T-Fret ground. Complex cloisonne techniques used throughout over gilt bronze or copper ground. Heavy pieces (x2).
Period: Late Qing dynasty (1644-1912). Emperor Jiaqing (1760 - 1820).
Condition: Cloisonne Enamel with very minimal losses and both Tazzas in overall excellent condi...tion. Bases slightly miss-shapen.
Height = 11cm; Diameter = 16 cm (approx).
