The flintlock pistol with browned octagonal sighted barrels & with
the side lock engraved ''Sutherland''. The mechanism with a safety slide. The stock with a hatched grip, and an engraved trigger guard.
Locking mechanism on half & full cock, in good working order.
Early 19th century.

British Board of Ordnance Small Arms Contractors 1689-1840'' by De Witt Bailey lists Ramsay & Richard Sutherland as being contractors to the Board of Ordnance from Feb 1809 to May 1818. Barrels, locks, rough stocked & set up, complete arms. Later they provided rifles from Oct 1823 to July 1825.
