Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Venetian cushion mirror features a central mirror plate surrounded by angled, raised glass panels that create a three-dimensional frame effect. Originating in Venice and Murano, these designs are recognised for their hand-etched glass patterns and decorative glass pediments.

These mirrors are constructed using individual glass panels mounted onto a shaped timber backing. The decorative borders feature hand-engraved foliage motifs and are secured at the joins using small glass rosettes and metal fasteners.

Authentic pieces feature hand-engraved details on the reverse or front of the glass, visible seam lines where mirror segments join, and age-related silvering patina. Screws and rosettes securing the glass to the wooden frame display historical assembly techniques rather than modern mass-produced fittings.

Position the mirror above a fireplace mantel or hallway console table to create a focal point. The reflective glass frame disperses natural light throughout the room and complements both minimalist and traditional interiors.

Clean the glass using a soft microfibre cloth slightly moistened with distilled water. Avoid applying liquid directly to the joins between the glass panels to prevent moisture from seeping behind and damaging the silvering.
