Victorian Silver Mounted Claret Jug/Water Ewer. London 1890. Clear bulbous body with a star cut base with a plain silver mount. The trefoil shaped rim and channeled handle are all clearly hallmarked for London 1890 by the silversmiths Rupert Favell & Henry Elliot. Super quality. Pristine, no damage, dings or restoration. The piano hinge is as good as the day it was made, and the glass is crystal clear. Could be used for either wine or water. Stands 8½ inches (22cm) to the top of the handle, has a capacity of 2¼ pints (1.135 litre) to where the silver mount begins. Ready to use. All my photos are taken using natural light only.
