The columns are elegantly plain, rising to a section of fine panelling at the top. Both sconces are removable, hallmarked and finished with reeded borders.
The Sheffield Assay Office opened in 1773, with these Candlesticks being hallmarked in 1793. To find an example of early 18th Century Sheffield assayed silver, other than in flatware is extremely rare. These stunning examples are as practical as they are decorative and would make a fantastic addition to any collection. Dimensions below.
