A Fine 18th Century Mahogany Chest Of Drawers of absolutely wonderful untouched rich warm colour and patina. In finest quality figured Mahogany having extremely fine Box wood stringing and cross banding to the drawer fronts and top, the cockbeading to the edge of the drawers has unusually been made in fruitwood, this has developed a beautiful light glowing colour and burnished patina over the years.
The soft glow off the uncleaned period brass handles adds further to the beauty of this piece of such pleasing small proportions. The nicely shaped curved bracket feet are completely original as remarkably is the blocking to the underneath. On the underneath of the piece are four nails, one with a scrap of paper attached, we believe this was probably an original makers label, what a shame it has now gone and there is no trace of where this lovely quality little chest was made.
