Richard Geiger (1870-1945), born in Vienna to a Hungarian Jewish family, began his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, followed by the Academy of Arts in Berlin. He further honed his skills at the Académie Julian in Paris, concentrating on the Parisian lower class's life scenes. In 1896, Geiger made Budapest his home, where he excelled as a genre painter, illustrator, and graphic artist, frequently portraying carnival themes, portraits, nudes, and mythological scenes. He garnered multiple awards in graphic competitions and participated in exhibitions across France, Germany, and Hungary.
