This is a pretty little pair of late Victorian silver salts, with original Bristol blue liners. Made by Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders and James Hollings Shepherd, they were assayed in Birmingham in 1901. Of oval form, these have all-round, pierced, galleried decoration, resting on ball feet. The salt spoons were assayed three years later, and were made by James and William Deakin. All pieces are in very good antique condition, with no damage or repairs to the silver. The original glass liners fit very well, with only the very lightest signs of use - the tiniest fleabite to one, which cannot be seen when fitted. The salt spoons are also in excellent antique condition. [Please note there are shadows and reflections in the photographs.]
