Samuel Collins was born in Bristol and was the son of a clergyman.
Collins also had a practice in Dublin where he remained until his death. He painted miniatures in watercolour and enamel and signed his work with initials - (S.C and the date). His work has been exhibited at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the South Kensington Exhibition 1865.
This is a lovely example of his work. (The boxed is for display)
