Antique Meiji Period Hardwood Table Top Cabinet with Bronze Animal Decoration

Description

This is a wonderful antique Japanese table cabinet which dates from the Meiji period, circa 1860 / 1880.

The cabinet has is exquisitely detailed with a wide array of bronze animals. It has attractive handles to the drawers and carrying handles to the sides.

There are in total 8 drawers, 1 sliding cupboard and a secret cupboard. The secret cupboard is to the top right, which looks like a panel, but this can be lifted up slightly then pushed back at the bottom such that the panel then goes backwards and can be taken out.

The approximate MAXIMUM dimensions are : 20 7/8 inches / 53 cm wide excluding carrying handles, 10 1/4 inches / 26 cm deep x 23 1/16 inches / 58.5 cm high.

CONDITION: The cabinet is in lovely original antique condition with a superb patina as can be seen from the photographs just odd age related marks commensurate with age. The cabinet is in good solid condition and ready to use. There are a couple of the bronze mounts lacking as there a few small holes where they will have been located. Please study photographs carefully as they form part of the description and condition, as what you view is exactly what you will receive.
