A very fine and high quality Cast George II antique sterling silver candlestick, it could well be a larger than normal Taper Stick. It has been wonderfully cast with floral and gadrooned decoration. It has been cast from a thick gauge of silver which gives it a pleasing solid feel to handle and a lovely deep shine.
It is fully hallmarked Sterling Silver to the underside of the base, London 1759.
Makers mark of William Cafe.
It is in an excellent condition with no breaks or repairs.
The decoration is still crisp and eye catching.
Stands steady and true.
228 grams.
16.2cm height.
8cm by 8cm base.
A very charming and usable piece of Georgian silver that would be perfect for the table.
