N Wilson Antiques Clocks has dated this Chinoiserie Porcelain Mantel Clock to the Victorian era.
The waisted form body has pretty flowers and birds incorporated in the patterns and is flanked by detailed lion head ring handles. The clock is finished with a decorative finial, over a domed cover top. The circular dial is surrounded with a lovely decorative flower and swags bezel and is covered with a bevelled glass door. The dial itself has pretty Roman numeral cartouches and small Arabic numerals above and is beautifully decorated to the centre. The base the clock is raised on is beautifully detailed with gadroons and is raised on three exceptionally detailed lion's paw feet.
The movement is nice and clean and is in perfect working order and happily striking the hours on the hours and once at half past. The movement is stamped with a trademark of 'A1' inside and oval and the number '21972' the pendulum is also stamped with the same number showing it to be original to the movement. The movement is complete with it's winding key.

20 1/2 inches (52 cm) high
AGE: The clock is circa 1890.
CONDITION: The case is in lovely condition as can be seen from the photographs just odd minor nibbles / marks commensurate with age and use. The is odd age related marks and some wear to the gilt. The movement is nice and clean and is in perfect working order and happily striking the hours on the hours and once at half past.
