Antique Rocking Father Time Longcase Grandfather Clock : Hay Wolverhampton

DESCRIPTION:
This is a wonderful and rare rocking Father Time oak and mahogany long case clock, with an eight-day movement on a broken arch brass dial with a rocking Father Time. The clock is made by Willm Hay of Wolverhampton. This clock is absolutely perfect for anyone looking for a clock to place straight into their home.
If we start with the hood, this has swan necks which are finished with lovely brass pateras. Above the door is beautifully inlaid with stringing. The door is mahogany cross banded and has a pretty little brass knob and again has been nicely inlaid with stringing. Pretty reeded book end columns flank the hood door.
If we then move down to the trunk it has a lovely Architectural shaped fully length shaped door which is cross banded in mahogany and with a lovely conch shell inlaid to the centre of the door. Above the door is nicely inlaid and below the door is an applied panel which has been inlaid with a love pattern. The door is also complete with it''s lo...ck and key which is fully working. The door is then flanked by reeded book end columns and above and below the columns has been nicely inlaid.
Finally the base has is nicely cross banded in mahogany to the top and bottom and has an applied panel with is cross banded and with a super conch shell inlaid to the centre. The clock is then raised on lovely bracket feet.
The dial with makers name of ''Willm Hay, Wolverhampton'', has the four corners adorned with pretty painted and gilded flowers in a lovely frame of foliage. The arch has a lovely rare feature of a rocking Father Time with a lovely painted background and flanked by pretty gilded historic buildings. The dial is set out with Roman Numerals with small Arabic Numerals above at the quarter hours. There are subsidiary second dial and date aperture. The dial also has the most wonderful fingers.
The movement is eight day duration and is rack striking on a single bell. The movement is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced. As can be seen from the photographs the movement is immaculately clean.
There is one ''''Willm Hay, Wolverhampton'' listed in ''Clockmakers & Watchmakers of Central England by Joseph McKenna'':
Also a maker of turret clocks, including one for Brewood Church. After his death in 1852 his wife Ann Hay continued his business until 1854. Advertisement and watch paper from Darlington Street known''.

As can be seen from these dimension this is a clock of lovely grand proportions.
CONDITION:
The clock is in wonderful condition. The movement is stunningly clean and is in perfect working order having recently been professionally cleaned and serviced.
This wonderful rocking Father Time clock and would make a super addition to any home.
