Staffordshire Pottery Figurine of General Napier, c. 1860

A finely modelled Staffordshire pottery figurine, likely from the factory of Thomas Parr, dating to circa 1860. The figure depicts General Napier standing before his horse, sword in hand, on a grass mound base. The inscription on the base reads "NAPIER," identifying the subject as the distinguished British military leader.

Condition

Hairline crack on the horse's right hind leg, very thin. Loss of paint and gilding consistent with age. Otherwise, the figure is in excellent antique condition, with no signs of breakage or restoration.
