W.J. Gravener Antiques Ltd. has dated these Regency Rosewood Card Tables to the Regency era.
The Royal Collection Trust retains a pair of similar card tables in The Music Room at Buckingham Palace, each with swivelling top veneered with rosewood; in part decorated with carved and gilded ornament and inlaid with brass.
This pattern of card-table is associated with the work of the London cabinet-maker George Oakley. They may have been purchased by Queen Mary.
