A stunning pair of English gilt and black japanned armchairs, in the Chinese Chippendale style.
Early twentieth century, attributed to S. Hille & Co, London. C.1910.
With intricate trellis or lattice work backrests and underarm supports, blind fret work to the forelegs and front seat rail. Adorned with finely painted chinoiserie decoration throughout.
Caned seats tight and intact, with horsehair squab seat cushions.
Offered in wonderful original condition.
