AC Silver has dated this Sterling Silver Stamp Box to the 1910s.

The glass body of the box is embellished with moulded decoration replicating the details of the book's pages and ribbed spine.
This exceptional box is fitted with a hallmarked mount to the rim and a hinged cover, ornamented with the elucidating engraving 'STAMPS'.

The upper plateau of the cover is further ornamented with engraved details, reproducing the book's decoration.
This antique silver box opens to reveal two stamp compartments, moulded within the glass body.

The interior of the cover bears the retailer's mark 'A & J Smith, Aberdeen'.
This exceptional box is a large example for its type.
Condition
This antique silver stamp box is a superior gauge of silver, excellent quality and in excellent condition.

The engraved decoration is all very crisp.
Full hallmarks struck to the interior of the cover are all very clear; the hallmarks are struck deeply due to the superior gauge of silver.
The part hallmarks to the rim of the box have wear in keeping with age and location.

Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this antique silverware.
