A fine example of an early 17thc latten slip-top single spoon.... (latten is made up of copper, tin, zinc and lead, giving it characteristics of both brass and bronze) ...it has a faded maker''s mark in the top of the bowl and the traditional English ''fig'' shaped bowl beneath a slightly tapering stem....very typical shape for this period and in very good condition for its age and domestic use.

English. C1620-25
