A Good Old Sheffield Plated Argyle / Gravy Warmer C1800

Description

This superb argyle or gravy warmer is made of Old Sheffield Plate and dates to c1800. A wonderful design with a small reservoir to the side and internal lining space to the interior for hot water. With a beautiful wooden finial with flower motif. Small tactile piece.

The condition is good overall with no dents. Slight copper bleed to the raised edges of the lid, a small solder mark to the base of the spout and an old repair to the handle, although this is still very firm. Very clean interior.

Weight approx 400g.

Height approx 12cm.

Total span approx 20cm.
