Antique Furniture Direct has dated this piece to the Edwardian era.
In good working order, it has a hinged boot plate into which you would place your boot heel and remove your footwear while holding onto the handles. In solid oak with wonderful original patina it features turned handles and has a visible pegged mortice and tenon construction. Useful for riders or ramblers alike, it folds away flat for storage, so can be conveniently hung up in a hallway or boot room.

Good original condition, in good working order. Beautiful warm colour and patina. Wear and marks commensurate with age. An old mended split to front of the boot plate (solid).
