A fantastic Victorian sapphire and diamond ring. The sapphire in the centre - certified as natural, unheated and originating from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) - is a vibrant electric blue. The stone is flanked by six (three each side) old mine cut diamond, which are interspaced by very small rose cut diamonds. Ornate scrolling detail in the gallery conforms to a slender D-shaped shank. 18k yellow gold.
Accompanied by a sapphire report from The Gem & Pearl Laboratory stating the sapphire shows no evidence of heating, and is Sri Lankan (Ceylon) in origin.
Cut:? The sapphire is a long cushion cut. The six main diamonds are old mine cuts (which are interspaced by a total of eight very small rose cut diamonds).
Colour:? The diamonds range from H to I.
Clarity:? The sapphire is ere-clean. The diamonds are VS1 to SI1; all clean to the naked eye.
Carat:? The sapphire is approximately 0.80 carat, with a total approximate diamond weight of 0.92 carat.

Measurements:? The sapphire is 7.5 x 4.5mm. From the edge of one outer diamond to the other is 14.8mm. The ring is 7.8mm at the widest point and sits 3.8mm from the finger.
