A rare silver flour dredger or novelty sugar caster, dating from the early years of King George V. The body is cylindrical, with an applied serpentine handle and flared foot rim. The pull-off lid is domed and pierced and the silver is of good gauge. Novelty items such as pepper pots are found in this traditional design, but a full size example is very unusual in hallmarked silver. A fine and versatile piece, for use as a sugar caster or flour dredger, as required. Dimensions below.
