Monumental Mantle Clock Using Japanese Cloisonne Panels.

£11,000    $14,089    €13,269
A monumental mantle clock , the movement and case are French , the large high quality cloisonne panels are Japanese by an excellent artist .

Copies of Japanese panels made in France are quite common in the late 19th C. clocks , but to have designed , ordered and used Japanese panels is most rare , these were obviously commissioned from an eminent maker of cloisonne in Japan , and took a great deal of for thought in its manufacture .

It is of wonderful quality throughout , some idea of this is in the fact it weighs 35 Lbs .

The clock movement has been serviced , the dial cleaned . all the panels are in original perfect condition .

An almost unique and rare item .
