This is a fine quality antique English early Georgian walnut chest of drawers, with feather inlay, cross-banding and stunning patination, circa 1730, in excellent condition.

Description:
 
This early Georgian chest displays a transitional design from the late Queen Anne to the George I period, evident with its use of materials, feather inlay to the drawer fronts, half-round moulded frame and bracket feet.  The Georgian walnut chest of drawers is designed with two small drawers above three larger graduating drawers. 
 
 
 
The top of the chest benefits from stunning mirrored quartered walnut veneers, bordered by wide walnut cross-banding and smaller feather cross-banding.  The drawer fronts are also decorated with feather inlay against a backdrop of mirror matched figured walnut veneers, flanked by a pretty half-round moulded frame; all of which is typical of this period.  The drawers feature later period brass handles and back plates, which are of superb quality; possibly from the later Georgian / early Victory period.  The drawers also incorporate working steel lever locks (with key).  The drawers are oak lined, with the boards running back to front, and a...
