Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

During the late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries, staved mahogany buckets with metal liners were used to hold iced oysters or cool bottles of wine during dining room service.

These items are typically crafted from staved mahogany held with internal joinery or metal bands, and fitted with a removable brass liner and brass carrying handles.

Authentic period pieces feature hand-joined timber staves, hand-fitted brass linings showing natural oxidisation, and authentic wear consistent with historical use along the base.

It can be placed on a dining room sideboard to chill wine bottles, displayed near a fireplace to store kindling, or used as a plant container for indoor greenery.

Maintain the mahogany by dusting with a dry microfibre cloth and applying beeswax, whilst keeping the brass liner clean and dry to preserve its natural aged patina.
