Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A George III display table, also known as a bijouterie or vitrine table, was designed during the reign of King George III (17601820). These pieces feature a glass-enclosed top designed to showcase valuable small items such as pocket watches, medals, or jewellery while keeping them secure.

Georgian display tables were predominantly crafted from solid mahogany or mahogany veneers, frequently accented with fine boxwood or satinwood stringing. The upper showcase includes glass panes and often features velvet or silk lining inside the display chamber.

Authentic period pieces display period woodworking techniques, including hand-cut mortise and tenon joints, original brass keyhole escutcheons, slender square tapered legs, and natural aging or oxidisation on the timber underside.

Place the table in a foyer, alcove, or landing area as a focal accent piece. Use the glazed top compartment to display curated collections such as mineral specimens, pocket watches, or decorative objets dart.

Keep the timber nourished by applying a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year, wiping along the grain. Clean the glass panels using a mild glass cleaner applied directly to a microfibre cloth rather than sprayed onto the wood.
