Grand Large Cut Crystal & Silver Plate Biscuit Box by Atkin Brothers, C.1880

Description

A top notch example of a Victorian biscuit box in an oval shape, made from the heaviest piece of chunky crystal with stunning decoration and in undamaged condition.

The hinged lid is beautifully decorated with engraved floral and foliate garland design surrounding the oval fluted finial.

The box sits on a stand which with a pierced or reticulated gallery, this in turn stands on four wonderful ball and claw feet. The underside is marked for the well renowned Atkin Brothers of Sheffield.

A fabulous heirloom piece in excellent condition. The tray measures 9" x 7 1/4" and the box stands 7 1/2" tall to top of finial.
