This handsome Victorian sterling silver thimble was made by the specialist thimble maker Samuel Foskett in 1896. He had his workshop in Great Sutton Street, Clerkenwell, London. The thimble presents an exquisite foliate and flowers design and an original leather cased lined with blue velvet.
The thimble presents number 8, the Lion passant, the London assay mark and letter “a” for 1896.

Condition:
The thimble is in excellent condition with very fine scratches representative of age. The leather case is in very good condition with some discoloration. The inner velvet is nice and clean. All hallmarks are clear.
