Rare 18th Century Coconut Bowl with Old Sheffield Plate Mounts

Description

This superb rare coconut bowl is mounted in Old Sheffield Plate. Bearing no makers marks but dating to the late 18th Century. The piece has a pair of movable handles and a pair of cartouches, one initialled and one blank. The coconut has been highly polished and has a beautiful coloration.

In good condition with slight signs of wear to the plating and the coconut is in good order for its age.
