A very rare 19th Century lithyalin glass scent bottle with silver hinged lid. The lid is repousse in design and silver gilt. Inside is a fitted glass peg stopper. The lithyalin glass body is of flattened circular ''penny'' form and is very tactile. Lithyalin glass is found in a variety of colours, including this variation in red. It was created in Bohemia by Friedrich Egermnann (1777-1864) and it''s names derives from the Greek ''lithos'' meaning stone. A superb and sought after collector''s item. Dimensions below.

Condition :- Excellent, with no splits, dents or breaks to the silver and no chips and cracks to the glass.
Hallmarks :- None present (not unusual for Victorian scent bottles). Tests as silver.
